KBS Golf’s own Craig Bowden eagled the par 5 18th hole to win the Indiana PGA Professional Championship held Aug 24-26th at the South Bend Country Club in South Bend Indiana. Bowden, a former PGA Tour player from Bedford who resides in Bloomington, was tied for the lead when he eagled 471-yard final hole at the South Bend Country to shoot a 3-under 68 and win by two shots. Bowden finished at 5-under 208 for the three-round tournament.
Craigs winning bag included Custom KBS Tour 120 shafts throughout his Irons and Wedges.
“I hit the ball really well,” Bowden said following the win. “It was cold out there, and I didn’t have much feel around the greens, but an eagle was a great way to finish. That was the only putt I made all day.”Bowden will represent Indiana in the 49th PGA Professional National Championship at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y., next June.“My goal this week was to qualify for the PNC, and I am just elated to have won the event,” Bowden said.A top 20 finish at the PGA Professional National Championship would qualify Bowden for the 2016 PGA Championship.“Just to have the opportunity to go and play will be tremendous,” Bowden said. “While on Tour, I wasn’t eligible to compete in the PNC, so this is a unique opportunity and one I really look forward to.”
A BIG congratulations go out to Craig from all of his fellow KBS team members and colleagues as well as our support on his future tournaments!!
